Gillian Anderson is an American/British actress, director, producer, activist and writer. She was born on 9 August 1968 in Chicago, Illinois, USA.

She made her start in mainly small theatre roles and in 1992, appeared in her first feature length film as April Cavanaugh in The Turning. But she is best known for her role as FBI Special Agent Dana Scully in the sci-fi television series, The X-Files (1993-2002) and reprised the role again in 2016. Some of her other acting work includes:-

• Hannibal (2013-15)
